Starlene Rankin is Media Co-coordinator for the Green Party of the United States, and the Lavender Green Caucus delegate to the Green National Committee.

Rankin's first involvement in the Green Party was in Iowa in 1996 when she founded and was co-chair of the Iowa Green Party and was treasurer for the Draft Nader for President Campaign in Iowa. She organized the Ames, Iowa Green Party and was the Green Party candidate for Ames City Council in 1999. She served as National Secretary for The Greens/GPUSA and ran the national G/GPUSA office in Lawrence, Mass. during the 2000 presidential campaign. Rankin was a negotiator for the proposal to bring the two national Green Party groups together in one party. She organized the first caucus of the Green Party of the United States, the Lavender Greens.
