Former Green Presidential Nominee Tours Georgia To Amend Constitution, Limit Corporate Power in America
Move to Amend national spokesperson David Cobb, attorney and lifelong activist, is touring the Southeast, in an effort to build connections, inspire activism, and reveal the origins of corporate power in America. The Georgia stops below are part of the lead up to a Move to Amend South! Regional Convergence scheduled for Gainesville Florida December 14th - 16th.
The Platform of the Georgia Green Party has long advocated limits on corporate powers. "Long before the judicial abuse of Citizens United, the Green Party has advocated for publicly and democratically financed election campaigns," said Bruce Dixon of Kennesaw Georgia, chairman of the Georgia Green Party and Managing Editor of BlackAgendaReport.com. "We have also endorsed the effort of MoveToAMend.org to amend the U.S. Constitution to provide legal recognition that just as slavery is the fallacious legal concept that people can be property, so too is corporate personhood a fallacious legal concept that property are people."
Move to Amend is a national coalition of over 241,000 people and organizations whose goal is amending the United States Constitution to end corporate rule by building a multiracial, cross-class democracy movement. David's presentations are part history lesson and part heart-felt call-to-action! "Challenging Corporate Rule & Creating Democracy" aims to help local folks understand how they can work to abolish corporate personhood and establish a government of, by, and for the people.
These events are free and open to the public. Donations to help finance the tour are appreciated, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
