Spidey star to play Marla Ruzicka Actor Kirsten Dunst has been cast to star in a feature film exploring the life of Green Party activist Marla Ruzicka. California native Ruzicka founded the Campaign for Innocent Victims of Conflict and raised $28 million to help Iraqis and Afghans. She was killed in Baghdad in April 2005 at age 28. Dunst, 23, has appeared in more than 40 films, including the Spider-Man movies and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Ruzicka had begun collaboration with writer Jennifer Abrahamson on a book proposal shortly before her death. Abrahamson is in the process of completing the manuscript, which she sold this summer to Paramount Pictures. Variety magazine reported that a number of Hollywood studios got into a bidding war over the project, which is currently untitled and scheduled for production in 2007. Lorene Scafaria is at work on the screenplay. |
