LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
How can I get some?
How can I get 10 more copies of the Winter 2004 Green Pages? I'm trying to
encourage local folks to recognize that we all do have options to more of the
same. It'd be great to have something besides the brochure (Intro to Wisconsin
Green Party) to leave with them. I'll gladly send a donation if that's the best
way to get copies, but 100 copies would probably be more than I could use.
Unless I leave them at libraries….
It was great to read about Green candidates' continued success in Arcata,
Calif. I spent my first vacation in my new camper in the parking lot of the
Arcata wastewater treatment plant in 1986, collecting info on their
revolutionary waste treatment alternative; I'm still trying to convince the
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources that it'll work in Wisc. Wish me luck.
I'm also encouraging our local Ahnapee River Green Party to join the Rural
Caucus.

Good info
I really enjoyed the last Green Pages-full of very good information from the
various states.

Crash that party
I guess those so-called conservatives aren't the staid religious folk we were
told won the election on values after all. Was that just another of their lies?
Republicans are real party animals, spending about $40 million on their
inauguration blast, an amount that would provide preventive health care and
vaccinations for about 22 million children. Don't fret, though, it's not our tax
money. It comes from a few corporate donors: 127 corporations who have received
$2.9 billion in government contracts over the last year. The finance industry is
the number one donor, of course. You see, they stand to make some $940 billion
with Bush's Social Security privatization plan.
The Green Party led the charge in Ohio, challenging the election fraud,
attempting to protect our democracy despite the fact that few seemed to care.
Now they need to crash this party and attempt to protect Social Security. I
guess that would be difficult; it's two against one, and Greens don't have a
seat on this bus.

You scooped the U.S. press with Maathai
Your winter 2004 issue was a well written, quality paper. Very informative. The
story about Kenya Green Maathai scooped the controlled press of the U.S.
Thanks,
